Responses from operators attached

Technically, I suspect its deployment to be painful.E.g. If i subscribe to Number portabilty, this means my NDC(0722) will remain the same across networks. This means a separate entity/Sub Db will be required to be queried for every call setup in the network(s) which has to be integrated to all operator billing systems. If I migrate to say orange, and use their network, obviously services will not vary. Its not clear how the transparent the tariff will be since a safcom subscriber calling me will expect to be charged as normal whereas I'm now technically on Orange network. What's the mechanism to be used to inform the caller that the dialed number is now on Orange and not safcom? Wouldn't that lead to confusion? Will there be delays in call setup time since now a separate core network node has been introduced?
Are there successful(or not) case studies for us to understand these scenarios?

I wonder why someone would want to buy safaricom then shift to zain,
or yu. Price wars cannot be a justification. Maybe features war.

There are people who have invested heavily on their networks in terms
of service features like Mpesa, paybill, and other subscriber
services.

And finally, once you have migrated say from safaricom to orange, how
will I know in which network you belong? I would wish to send you
Mpesa, or call you expecting rates like those of my network
