Select a rating that is approximately 25% higher than the peak load e.g if the load is about 40 KW, opt for a 50 kW Genset. A well rated generator will operate comfortably at approximately 80% of its full capacity and as well as provide a margin of flexibility if the load increases in the future.

Nonetheless  Inverter or Genset outcome is same,(backup AC power supplies) decision mainly to do with costs besides other environmental and operation aspects..  A generator will supply power as long as it keeps running-has fuel.. an inverter will only last as long as the batteries... list is endless
..depending on the size of load, inverters have huge initial cost but the long-term cost of ownership would be less etc.. etc

for the genset keep in mind that you need to consider what happens to the computers when power is changing from KPLC to Genset and vice versa

Some correction.. Inverter running cost is nearer to zero but not Not Zero

Branton

have you considered  a power backup system ( inverter charger)  the initial cost may be high but running cost is zero

A quick one!need to power a 20 machines,a photocopier 3050

diesel/petrol ....to save me the hustle of computing average power
consumption for each ,been there done that kind of a thing.
