@Wash...as someone said before they will go at a loss in the short term but that is most likely in their marketing budget! 
This time round Safaricom has to reply. It can no longer behave like the behemoth it has always portrayed itself to be. I can imagine what will happen - take me for example...I have a smartphone and a kinda cheap phone. You can guess all along which one has had the green sim card. It seems I'll just use the green sim for money transfers until the Queen Bee makes a better statement!
@David...that's why Safaricom cannot afford to be reluctant in the face of all this - voice is their biggest revenue earner! Like wolves hunting...one makes the direct attack while others flank the prey on either side. Methinks Peter's assessment is spot on.
@Peter...maybe we should call on Paul to predict for us? :)
