I assume it automatically switches to Kiswahili because of the .co.ke If you want google always in English, try www.google.com/ncr (no country redirect)

I agree it is a real pain. I have also seen many many many posts in the net of people complaining about this from many countries. Even on the Google blogs. It seems Google does not want to listen in this case. Of course, Google could prove me wrong :)
