Most generaors use Internal combustion engines, which are like 16 percent efficient. More than 87 percent of energy from the petroleum fuel is wasted as heat, the rest is noise.
If I and watson set up an industrial park somwhere in mwingi (assuming the new port in lamu is opened it wouldnt be such a crazy idea), and then as "land lords" lease land, power and steam as a package, we would be generating energy at close to 90 percent efficiency. (you with me? elec + heat exchangers to generat steam , etc/.

we might be at lattitude zero but trust me, there is plenty of wind to go by. The turkana guys say the approx potential of that corridor is 27k megawatts, thats like a third of the grand Inga's potential.
