molten salt is a storage medium which stores the heat to then supperheat the working fluid. Its the simplest technology and some companies have actually made solar thermal work at better efficiencies than photovoltais. Google Stirling energy systems to check out their cool dishes that generate up to 10KW each. personally i think thats the way for energy generation in Africa...
