[Skunkworks] Problems with Pioneer DVDR

Hi all, I bought a Toshiba Satellite Ld500 with a Pioneer DVDR. A week ago, it just stopped working. The diagnostics on the drive show that it is working properly but it just cant detect/read any discs I put in. Am at my wits end here, please help. And please, be gentle :-)
