Please note in the Oracle press statement there is no mention of MySQL.

They state

1. Their commitment to and reliance on Java for their Middleware
2. They will tune Oracle to perform better (depend more on specific features in) Open Solaris - similar to MS-SQL depending on Windows specific features to perform better.
3. Their commitment to Linux

Things do not look to good for MySQL and Microsoft stands to benefit most.
