Once had an API in python that could query base stations, i think part of the Info it returned was its location, let me try to install it on my New phone and get the data again.

yea, then make it into an API where we could have a development community
making use of the API to provide location based services.

i like it. well occasionally the providers switch the cell tower id's. so i do not know if the update is reflected on the api..

I heard a rumor about someone getting the GPS locations for the towers (base stations) for the mobile operators in Kenya. Anyone know anything about that?
