Philip, I just connected back my xp pc and it prints properly but when i plug in back my Dell with Win7.. problem lies here.. i run xp drivers since the printer couldn't install itself when i plug it it. so i unplugged it run xp drivers and plugged it back and it installed successfully bt doesn't print lines. So u might be right... Hp website doesn't provide me with WIN7 drivers for this particular printer Hp Deskjet 3744
