are you aware that you are openly admitting to stealing other peoples software products through torrent downloads and hacked keys.in some parts of the world you can be arrested by your own admission on email. if you want something free and legal, i use avira. i dont know about antivirus apps slowing machines, if a machine is slow , its slow, upgrade it or get a new one. just dont try and run multiple antivirus programs together , that gives you some amazingly undesirable results. kutz On Thu, Apr 14, 2011 at 10:31 AM, Brian L <lusiola@gmail.com> wrote:
Hi Skunks
Being an ardent linux user since ubuntu 6.06, I am facing a situation where I need an antivirus for windows machines. I am currently not in a position to purchase a commercial solution. Torrent options for me would be NOD32 and Kaspersky. I preferred to use NOD32 but its a headache since the hacked keys only last a month. I haven't tried Kaspersky but from what I've seen the keys also expire constantly. Hence I cannot go down that road. Anybody using ClamAV. How is its performance on windows machines? Does it catch viruses? Does it slow down the machine? Apart from AVG free & Avast what other options do I have? Any guidance is highly appreciated. Thanks guys.
