There is the concept of convertible ultrabooks which is being fronted by intel 

Already lenovo, dell among others have already launched their convertible ultrabooks. They are intended to bridge the gap between the tablet and the laptop. 

Given that they are running Windows 8, if this catches on it could be a big selling point for Win 8
