My Meter and my Neighbors prepay meter are faulty (to our advantage). since the initial 60 units, the units have not gone below 20 units, once it gets to 20, it resets itself back to 29....for the past one month since installation. I also know a couple of other people with the same Problem/bahati makes me wonder how much revenue KPLC is loosing and whether they did test these system thoroughly... I hope they will have no way of catching up with me..[?]..but am saving my usual 2K just in case.

For instance, my friend tells me when he was staying at South B, the units he was charged were much higher, than what he's paying at his current location in Ruaka. From this, if at all that's the case, Wilson Airport area is a high unit area than say, Kibera (which is next door). But still, the logic does not make sense. I thought with pre-pay, the consumption should have dropped instead of rising. Unfortunately, KPLC will always keep you guessing.

When you change from post to pre-paid meters, the post-paid meters will undergo a disconnection & decommissioning, which takes about 60 days. After the end of this period (may take longer), KPLC will refund your deposit by a check sent to your postal address via registered mail. In our office,our monthly electricity bill with the postpaid was always an average KES 50,000 (BTW, I need the services of an electrical contractor to come and tell me where all this power is going. So if you know someone, refer them to me).
Recently, KPLC came and installed prepaid meters at Wilson Airport. Since then, our consumption has risen to an average or KES 20,000 per week!
So, tell me - if we've paid 50k (avg) monthly all these years, how comes now we're averaging 80k monthly?
