Internet pricing has something in common with other things around us. I'd like someone to correct what I say here. I read the budget summary for this year and Cameras, TVs are Zero rated. Has this been passed and gazetted ?

from the summary : " remove the current import duty of 25 percent and VAT of 16 percent on television cameras, digital

cameras and video camera recorders. "

I've been asking TV and camera vendors about the reductions and none is straight forward about it and I do not want to buy " old expensive stock ". I could not believe yesterday when I went over to a camera shop they were selling a Nikon D40 @ 80,000/- while this camera should be about Ksh 35,000/-. So if you remove the zero-rating, the camera should be costing around 25,000/- to 30,000/-.
