With just over two weeks to go until the event I'm grateful you are attending Mobile Web East Africa (www.mobileeastafrica.com), which has been gaining momentum since the New Year and is set to be a superb couple of days.

The conference is generating a huge amount of interest in the region, on the continent, and globally with 10 different nations already confirmed in the delegation. Furthermore, space at the venue is limited to 120 attendees and the current rate of registrations indicates that the event will sell out.

As someone who is intrinsically linked with the future of ICT development in East Africa, I believe that not only will you realise a great many benefits from attending but the event itself will also benefit from having you present in the delegation, due to its “interactive roundtable format”. The topic is of the utmost importance – a mobile phone can now be used as a personal computer, allowing access to the greatest information resource anyone has ever had available to them – the internet. This presents incredible potential and is the main focus of the conference.
The event is being officially hosted by the Kenya ICT Board, an illustration of not only the importance of the topic, but also the level of support that it is receiving from all echelons of the Public and Private Sectors.
The agenda features five presentations from individuals who are leading the development of the mobile web in South Africa; their contributions will present you with a look into how and where the region’s mobile ecosystem can develop. Further presentations have been confirmed from the leading individuals and companies in the East African region.
The event is the second in a series of four conferences to be held around the continent – the first Mobile Web Africa conference received incredible reviews and 97% of the 200+ strong delegation rated it as “Good”, “Very Good” or “Excellent”.
