Orange has been planning to kill CDMA for over 3 years. It was a parallel network requiring separate staff and infrastructure. I think it was expensive to run, given the amount generated and spent. It also requires CDMA handsets which are not widely available in Kenya, and given the technical knowledge of most consumers, "itaingia sim card ya safaricom ama airtel" It kind of makes sense On Wed, Mar 18, 2015 at 8:11 PM, Odhiambo Washington via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
Suddenly Orange is on a mega expansion of their 3G network, with so much being put into advertising.
At the end of this month, the CDMA network will see its end - killed by Orange!
So, for those who feed/sleep this ntwork stuff, was it easier for Orange to kill CDMA (low update) and convert those sites/facilities to GSM/3G?
I only need to understand if there is a correlation.
