Here is the scenario:

I have X number of SGSNs and Y number of GGSNs.

I would like to distribute a single APN from X number of SGSNs to Y number of GGSNs .

Am currently using DNS A records on round robin but I would like to achieve weighted traffic distribution since the GGSNs have different capabilities/capacities.

My best bet for now is DNS.

Whether Bind or Unbound, PDNS or djbdns, I believe the RFCs apply equally. So go right ahead and write a new RFC and submit it to the IETF Working Group dealing with DNS :)

You can do patches to any of them, and submit for approval, thereby doing what Adam mentioned - "convincing the rest of the world to respect your rewrite :-P"

My mail is very clear, I want to achieve a similar weighting as MX but on A records on DNS (Weighted Load balancing on DNS)  . I did not specify Bind as the server to use. So my options are open.
