I think a lot here is about preference since the browser performances are not very far a part. I mostly use Safari since all my stuff (bookmarks + logins) get carried to all my devices - iPad + iPhone, but sometimes (like now) I can't resist using Chrome on my MacBook. Both work for me well. I also have installations of Mozilla & Opera which I now seldom use, not for any reason other than Safari & Chrome are opened!
