Hi guys, I just remembered that someone mentioned here that there is a shipping company in Eastleigh that has 10kg minimum instead of the 25kg minimum from Al Salihiya. Al Salihiya charges $10 per kg (from US), with a minimum of 25kgs. For single items, it's very expensive. But for bulk imports it does seem cheaper.
Shipping from UK is $7.5 per kg, a minimum of 10kgs with UAE being $5.5 per kg. (Can't remember the minimum weight)

I finally imported some consignment from the US using my Shopandship account. The weight was 29.20 lb (13.25kg). The shipping cost was Kes 31,784, translating to about $22.5 per kilogram. The shipment took 10 days to arrive.
Verdict : On this, they were a tad slow compared to competition while their shipping cost is too steep.
