Safaricom confirmed you can be subscribed through a website. Which brings us to the question, what happens if you enter someone else's number? On 23 Jul 2013 21:05, "Brian Ngure" <brian@pixie.co.ke> wrote:
I've seen those sites. There is small print saying you will be subscribed to a text sms service at premium rates. It is entirely your fault if you enter your number and start receiving text messages. No one to blame but yourself. And I still think it was silly.

Brian, that is really hash.
I don't believe some of these stories. Excuse my ignorance. Can the PRSP subscribe you to a paid service through a webform and Safaricom starts deducting your airtime for every sms you receive from the PRSP?
If it was that simple, a crook would just subscribe every existing number from 0700-000000 to 0799-999999 through the said web form
