i'll throw in my several cents on the comments made on php. when you are driving on an unmarked road, you keep in mind where the lane/lines should be. a bad driver goes all over the place and then says "wt*! this road is not even marked". of course, comparing php with an unmarked road is a bit incorrect, but most of its critics (especially the ones who incessantly raise that point)

do not appreciate that

#1. it was made primarily for the web
#2. the original creator of php never intended it to be any of the things it is criticised for. he has clarified this in a humorous article which should be in the archives.
#3. it is not C#, C, java or python .
#4. may not have interracted much with php beyond the self-assumed role of a critique
