Me thinks Kenyan banks should read this article: http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=5813&tag=nl.e550 I am yet to find a Kenyan Internet banking site that is fully accessible from any other browser except Internet Explorer. Banks don't seem to realize that there are other operating system out there aside from MS Windows. SDKs are out there. Symbian has one, iPhone has another and Microsoft has its version, including tutorials. I'd guess that at least 50% of the code in form of classes and namespaces has already been done for you. Anyone working on these? Whether commercially or privately or just a hobby? Rgds

AccessKenya is waking up the dead !!

Got a call from AccessKenya telling me I own them one month. They are actually going through every single account and waking up the dead. I was one of their first customer @AccessHome and pay through direct debit, so I am really puzzled here. Then they send me an incomplete statement; almost incomprehensible jumping from Dec. 08 to May 09, lot of data missing here. Anyone got a similar call and funny statement ?? Cheers

Iframe injection in windows

Hi all, Has anyone had a problem with the iframe injection worm in windows. This is a worm that crawls folders in your computer looking for html documents or any other type of document that can be uploaded to a web server and requested via a browser e.g. index.php and adds(injects) an iframe into the page such that the iframe will be uploaded to the server and every time the page is accessed a script is executed that might compromise your site users security. This is just a word of warning. So before you start using windows as your development environment and before you using filezilla before submitting your files to the server, make sure they have no iframes pointing to some chinese website. There is a very high importance given on usability and sharing. The information published in Web2.0 world travels like wild fire, either partially or in full. Web2.0 world has less clutter coupled with easy retrieval of precise information and furthermore building upon that information and sharing it further. Widgets and Tagging are two important features of Web2.0. *Web3.0: *To be honest, there are varied perceptions of what Web3.0 is. It is purely a word coined as the next version of Web2.0. One basic thing that everyone accept is Web3.0 will be a maze / network of application working together homogeneously. Ignorance question on Web design..

Listers, my apology for the comments if they seem ignorant. ( if you followed my thread on asp hosting, I have a little experience on .asp... ) So I decided to check out some sites and to be amazed by all the developments in the sector, afterall I took a 5 year break and never did a commercial site. So I come across a site that does corporate business web design. Nicely done it is and has all the presentations. I decided to look at source..... and I could not believe it. CSS templates and one can download the templates as a rar files ( usual sites... ) . And source is html.... woaa! I was under the impression that everyone went to .php but seems not. Web design and development is like games development. Needs 2 different talents i.e Web Developer and Graphics artist. So I guess Graphics artist has been replaced by .rar files as templates. My question is : On skunks, are there any web developers / artists and why do they not contribute to the list? As an inspiration to others, where are their works or sites that one can visit and admire? Just wondering... :-)

Mdaemon server is running (emails are going in and out normally) Surely you don't have to include this in a JD not unless there's a process failure, what in the world are they doing with M-daemon? Who uses nowadays? A linux-based exim or postfix can solve this. Speaking at a Microsoft customer event in London this week, BAA CIO Philip Langsdale said the company has been testing Windows 7 and now plans to roll it out across the company. BAA owns and operates seven UK airports, including Heathrow, which handle more than 200 million passengers per year. Langsdale said BAA is planning to invest £60m in IT systems and infrastructure between 2008 and 2012 which will feed into a company-wide effort to reduce operation expenditure by £114m over the same period. He added that so far Windows 7 has proved to be reliable and secure, resulting in a lower number of support requests to his IT team, which also has an impact on cost. "The evidence so far suggests it will reduce costs. We haven't done the maths but early indications are that [the number of] helpdesk calls have gone down," he explained. Bringing the whole company onto Windows 7 is also intended to simplify the technology platform across the business so that it can be better managed and fits with BAA's strict governance requirements. BAA still has a lot of work to do with its Windows 7 roll out as it discovered that 95 per cent of its desktop and laptop estate were below the spec required to run the operating system. Langsdale said the company knew a significant hardware refresh was required and so the Windows 7 implementation will be carried out in a phased fashion to fit with this. Langsdale added the company needs to take a "cautious" approach to the Windows 7 roll out due to financial constraints. "We're going to replace [hardware] over a period of 15 months," he said. Langsdale's team has been testing Windows 7 using virtualisation technology from Citrix, which they found works well, and the team plans to use it for the wider roll out work. Langsdale told delegates at the Microsoft customer event: "Generally is has been a very good and easy migration." -- "Change is slow and gradual. Internet Access Restriction

Hi guys, I'm looking for an application that I can install on my server to restrict internet access. Something that works kinda like.. users 1-10, except user 9, only access the internet before or after working hours. User 9 only has access to a certain website at all hours. I have tried googling but what I'm getting isn't really helping, so I thought to turn to the list. Any advice? P.S. I have installed AnalogX proxy, but I don't think it has all that capability. Cisco 4500 VLAN ACL

Hi All, I have 5 VLANs in my network configured in my L3 switch 4500. currently all VLANs can ping and reach each others, means 192.168.3.100 host in my vlan2 can reach 192.168.1.100 which is vlan3. I want to create an ACL in my L3 switch to deny the Vlans to access or ping each other, I just want them to access my servers 172.16.1.10 - 172.16.1.30 which are in the default Vlan1. can someone advise me which the commands and where to apply them in the L3 switch. SAFARICOM MODEM UNLOCK CODE.

Dear All, Does anyone in the room know how to unlock this Safaricom modem to work with other providers?I have tried using YU,Orange,Zein but it keeps requesting for the unlock code. I have tried using DC-Unlocker to unlock the data card but this isn't detecting the card. Is there an alternative Software that I can use to unlock this modem?
