Online Registration and Login headache

Have you noticed that so many sites nowadays that offer "free" software downloads always require the user to login or register before he/she can "freely" download any software? First, I don't understand how my login/registration helps them make money or whatever Secondly, most users on being required to login will most probably look for another site that doesn't require the login or registration, which beats whatever purpose they were trying to achieve.. It's frustrating coz all I want is the software then I move on with life. And what assurance do I have that they won't start sending me spam??

FTP Transfers Zain vs Safaricom

Hello Skunks, Just curious, I have been trying to do some FTP transfers. My zain connection seems to complete more transfers while my Safcom one barely does any. Why would this be? I'm on Safaricom 3G and Zain Edge... Regards,

In today's paper's CCK is sourcing for supply, installation and commissioning GIXP, wonder why they are not working with private initiatiates such as KIXP? There are too many parallel and sometimes duplicate infrastructure initiatives in this country.
