N actually when dealing with mobile web apps n you have images for you to get the best petformance is you replace those images using scalable vectors.Read on svg.You will be surprised how fast the app loads coz images are vectors. Folks , this may be a bit technical , but I would love to learn form experts out there doing mobile app development. Early last year , I got enthused by the power of HTML5 and CSS3 on mobile . I was further impressed by the availability of write once run everywhere platforms like Phonegap <http://phonegap.com/> and Sencha<http://www.sencha.com/> that leverage on the power of the '3 musketeers' Javascript , HTML5 and CSS3 to create great applications that save you a lot of time when you want to hit many platforms in the shortest time possible. It looked great, I went on to create a phonegap app but was very disappointed by the responsiveness. I concluded that Native apps are still the best way to go if building 'fast' apps is your priority. Facebook also regretted the same as reported here<http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/11/mark-zuckerberg-our-biggest-mistake-with-m…>. However the Sencha guys disagree as you can see here<http://www.sencha.com/blog/the-making-of-fastbook-an-html5-love-story>. Here is an odd one. I am installing Edubuntu on a PC for my kid. It's dual booting Windows 7. During the installation process, the network interface is active. However, once the installation is complete there is no Ethernet interface and so network is inactive. I am looking at /etc/network/interfaces and I see: auto lo iface lo inet loopback iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 I am sorry, but I haven't read much on Edubuntu. Could this be the default setting - that the network is disabled to protect the kid from the 'hostile Internet' - just in case? I think its an excellent system if set up well. It both encourage good driving and penalise bad driving. Let me explain how. You start with for example 3 points. You can have a maximum of 12 points at which point you loose your license for a month the first time and longer after every other time you Max your points. The whole thing is also tied to the insurance. So you start with 3 points and a monthly insurance of $300 for example. Every year that pass without accident your points go down. This results in lower insurance premium. For example more than 10 points will trigger a $500 to $700 monthly premium. So you are not only hit by a fine, but a bad driver will find it harder to keep driving long before you Max your points. Results, cheaper to keep driving if you remain accident free and really expensive to keep on the road for repeat offence. That however mean the mechanics can't fix an accident car without police report. And the government has to keep everybody's driving history. Think its great because it even pay those who drive well. Its a 200mb file) It appears to be a SQL-Lite version 3 database, but I've tried numerous SQL-Lite browsers that are unable to read it, like SQL-Lite browser and that mozilla addon for reading SQL-Lite files... Is it simply corrupt (explaining why the IEBC staff on the ground were unable to use it) or is it encrypted or is it actually a data file of a different format (i.e. not sql lite)? Opening the file with notepad++, I can see actually names and stuff... so I don't think its encrypted... I think... Any help in reading that file and analysing it would be appreciated :-)

save.php is code to save the state to the db. Its called via Ajax Post (Line 44 - 46) and pass the parameters { task (saving), name (grid_stateId) , value(grid_State) }. Its was fun doing this. We have a data collection and analysis App, so my boss want the users to define different grid views (dynamically). This can only be done by saving the state to the Db. Example :- If an analysis report had be done by user X, then user Y do not need to go again doing the filters, column hidding/grouping on the grid again, just pull a saved queries from a dropdown. Am not getting any errors from the console.log(). My quess for now is in the Exjs encodeValue vs decodeValue (though i havent hacked it fully) . Why? because why i changed the state to a cookie provider it works... the structure of the cookie value is abit different from the stored value in the db. Listers, Those who follow Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) processes, must be aware of the new generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) initiative (http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/) Generic Top level domains (gTLDs) are names of an Internet address that identifies it generically as associated with some domain class, for example .org (for non-profit organisations, industry groups, and others), .com (commercial), etc. While ccTLDs (country code top-level domain name) identify national domicile for an address. (For instance, .ke for Kenya and .ug for Uganda.) In June 2011, ICANN's Board of Directors approved the new gTLD Guidebook and authorised the launch of the New gTLD Program. The application window opened on 12 January 2012, and ICANN received 1,930 applications for new gTLDs. Among them the geographic TLD for Africa, dotAfrica. * Dot Africa* "dotAfrica is the proposed name for the African continent's generic Top Level Domain (gTLD). It is an opportunity to forge an identity that will elevate and enhance an African digital presence"...."it is also that specific Internet namespace for Africa and will echo ongoing operation and successes of other sister community TLDs such as DotEu (DotEuropa) and DotAsia which have created a new Internet identity for their users and business who seek more regional presence without being confined within the limits of one country" The extraordinary Session of the African Union CITMC held in Johannesburg, acknowledged the benefit of the Dotafrica domain name to Africa and adopted a resolution to "Establish dot Africa as a continental Top-Level Domain for use by organisations, businesses and individuals with guidance from African Internet agencies".The AUC was therefore given the mandate from African governments to establish "dot Africa as a continental Top-Level Domain for use by organisations, businesses and individuals with guidance from African Internet Agencies" and to "set up the structure and modalities for the implementation of the dot Africa project" as provided for in the 2010 Abuja Declaration. The AUC appointed Uniforum to coordinate the ICANN application process and manage regional TLD. The dot Africa project is currently at the cusp of transition from the Application Phase to the Launch Phase until the TLD is delegated by ICANN. The dot Africa initiative aims: To sponsor, establish and operate a regional Internet namespace with global recognition and regional significance. The namespace is dedicated to the needs of the Pan-African Internet community. To reinvest surpluses in socio-technological advancement initiatives relevant to the Pan-African Internet community. To operate a successful not-for-profit initiative that is a technically sound, leading edge TLD registry for the Pan-African Internet community. When a domain name has been entered into the RNL, the registry will ensure that the name is not made available for registration, other than through defined redemption processes as articulated in the RNL policy. The Reserve Name List Policy is now open for public comment period starting July 1st to August 1st. This comment period aims to provide an opportunity for greater stakeholder involvement in shaping the development of the dot Africa initiative and to build a shared vision and recommendations. The run dd with flag for skipping broken sectors - on transit at the moment and don't have access to man page. Also, its better to run with 512 bytes, slow, but ensure it don't skip too much once it hit a broken sector. The resulting data on external drive is the best you can get from your dying drive. Note, using some utilities from windows that repeatedly try reading from bad sections increase the chance of the drive dying before you have completed recovery.
