Virus Infection

I think my Laptop is infected, I shut it down yesterday normally but today on booting two strange user accounts "Database" and"dxing" are created and they are password protected, My usual password also does not go through and that was the administrators account which was the only account with administrative rights. When I boot my comp from a KNOPIX live CD i can see my documents but this two accounts are not having anything in the users documents and settings making me a little suspicious that its a virus attack. I installed another operating system (windows) in a different hoping that I will get access to my saved documents but its giving me an access denied message. Is there any way I can reset this password to access my docs Any help please

Anyone share this experience? I've been on a short trip away and upon getting back, I checked my email account. Its swamped by mails from a mailing list at bidiiafrika(a)googlegroups.com. I have nothing against any groups trying to do their thing and I appreciate the work done by other groups etc but I'm not interested in receiving email about migingo, pregnancy tests and racist remarks etc. I also appreciate that these people thought I was someone who would contribute but unfortunately I cannot. The strange part is that I never subscribed to this group and so I assume it was done WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I'm assuming that Google do have a policy against spamming, I'm not going to unsubscribe to the mailing list because I never subscribed to it in the first place. Before I escalate this further, what would you suggest. Rgds.

I believe your problem could be that Ubuntu cannot install drivers for something in your system thus the I/O error. - Were u installing on an empty partition i.e. a partition that has not been formated to Windows file system? Anyway during the Ubuntu installation you should be asked whether you would like to frormat the system and you should say yes. - Do you still have Vista in the system? - Can u run Vista?
