Yes Patrick, To be Honest POS application is a very complex area that we have been swimming for years. You would never find a master key like POS around. Certain features are universal and hence considered the standard with good software developers. Its then goes down to customization where sophisticated users need more customized package to match up with their business competitive practices .We have always managed to come up with successful solutions. And this is our strength .POS market is very crazy, we are frequently finds ourselves in a position to re evaluate certain features to be sure that we don't have redundancies. This is very crucial on how you can decide if our system can handle things or not. How do you for example handle transport cost in a container with other goods of various size, weight and profit do you handle in accounting? How do you handle Inventory accounting as whole? Stock transfer can very much involve a number of account ledgers that are poorly operational and would complicate certain issues .If you can sort Accounting items I sure you won't need much. You would have issues - Security. -Bandwidth.-online shoppers or slow counter sales wont be problem.But a serious restaurant,supermarket etc .you might end up having a paper and pen before posting later. -You would need to play with a number of tricks to be sure that what you are reading in reports is real.Order management(online and offline),Available items(for online and offline),order statuses,sales etc. -You might need strategies on both online/offline processing of data over single site to business spread over multiple locations. -Somewhere you might need to seperate things up and have an integration instead when it comes to real operation. POS is always a complex segment of business software.My experience shows that you would always find something to improve, somethings to bend, something to loosen , as business procedures are not standard,always evolving .some customers can change their practices to fit the software,but others find it hard to change ways that have been giving them advantages over competitors.Sometimes changes would mean business losses.
