That means there is a logic flaw in the prepaid billing graduated tarrif. Buying 120 units at a go or buying them in batches of 40 all within 30 days should cost the same. Coz if I buy 40, it should keep in mind/memory that the next batch I buy, only 10 units will be on the first tarrif. The rest should be on the next tarrif band. I gave up on trying to approximate how much the number of units might cost. Once I bought units worth 1000 sh and got 64 units only to buy more the same month worth 1200 sh and received 58 units. On enquiry I was told the moment I went over 50 units that month I was payin about 6 or 7 times per kwh as compared to 50 units and below. I think they need to publish this costs to help someone budget, Power in Kenya is just not manageable, too expensive and most of the time unreliable. PHP - Oracle Insert

Hi everyone, I could use some help here; has anyone executed an insert statement into Oracle using PHP? I have done a select but insert won't work at all, either through the classic way, or using PDO. It shows activity forever, but doesn't throw any error. Interesting thread. Looks like we need a hashtag for guys to vote on the best hashtag for this KPLC token thing. Anyway, I'm no lawyer, but I remember reading in some act that power utility providers ought to give a breakdown - on the bill - of how they arrive at the amount charged. I think Kenya Power are in violation of that (unless the act was amended). For me buying power tokens somewhat feels like an act of charity. S. While you wait for the outcome to your petitions, here's what I know about this whole matter 1. Lots of customers (both prepaid & postpaid) have recently noticed a sharp increase in their electricity bills for fairly the same consumption over a period of time. Is KPLC playing monkey games? 2. KPLC favours customers with lower consumption rates by penalising those considered as 'heavy users'. For pre-paid users, it's been reported that you get more value for your money if you split your monthly consumption into multiple smaller tokens as opposed to when you purchase one single token (hence bundled into the 'heavy user' band) I'm on postpaid and my last bill did shoot up. I'll analyse the observations when I get the chance, as well as post some link to some of the claims when I dig it up. Tony.
