What would it take to have all persons in Kenya registered and given an id number same as the one we have then extend the use of this number to identify you for life. When you go to school your school records have this number, when you get a job that number is used, when you buy property same number is used, if you go to the bank same number, if you rent a house, the landlord has to submit - upload it some place. If you die the number is deactivated. This would apply to all citizens, you get this number at birth. What would be the purpose? 1. It would be very easy it keep tabs of the actual number of the citizens and make projections. 2. The Electoral commission would have updated voters roll 3. Would aid in planning, how many people live in a certain area, qualifications of the citizens broadly or more in-depth. 4 Could be used by institutions like HELB , once the employer enters your number into there pay role a mandatory % of income will be deducted based on outstanding balance to them. Think if more people got to paying there loans early more would be available for even more students. Maybe it could be pushed to technical schools or even high school maybe How would it be managed and what would be required? Saw a piece on CitizenTV about the abandoned children and just thought if we had a better system maybe parents who dump there kids could be tracked - actually one would not even do it as you *know* the state knows where you work and stay. Skunkworks production 2030 : "A High Level Military and Defence Meeting " email based simulation game

Dear Listers and especially those who are quite interested and knowledgeable. The purpose of this email based game simulation is to get all involved in a hypothetical situation and take roles as per their knowledge. *The email game simulation is based on a meeting of high level military commanders and generals*, as there is a threat to National Defence in the year 2030. Remember all that we write here is fictitious. There will be seriousness, comedy, knowledge flows and even stress. A decision must be made at the end of the meeting. In this game simulation I'd play the role as a Defence Analyst who has also been invited to the High Level Defence Meeting. Should any skunker want to take part in this game, please give your Rank and why you are important to the meeting. Ofcourse, you can promote anyone you want to a senior rank if you feel the person deserves it. No need to have someone bright and yet they remain a 1 star General. I'd like to nominate @James Nzomo as : General James Nzomo as Commander of the Air Force. A role he knows well and can add a lot to the game simulation. We need Generals for the Army and Navy too. Who will these be? So Ladies and Gents, here goes................... get involved and have some fun too. :-) *The year is 2030. * * * *DOD have received word that there is possibility of an attack from across the Borders. An urgent high level meeting has been called by all the Joint Chiefs of Staff on what needs to be done. The meeting has be set and all those involved are now at the round table where the meeting discussions can begin............
