If you haven't already heard, *S.O.P.A, *not the touring company we all know. S.O.P.A. The Stop Online Piracy Act in the US are now lobbying to shut down and sue sites that use unlicensed content. This is great news on one front where they start fighting against piracy. yay for them, but on another front, a more important one, this brings about something rather interesting. Their clauses also clarify that use of content can be in any way, in that if you as an individual purchased some music online or downloaded it, went on safari and then made a home video and used some of that music, you're liable for charges up to i think USD$2500 or that may be the licensing fee,my understanding of the document i read wasn't too clear. And a 5 year sentence in Jail. As a matter of what my little brain comprehended regarding the legalities, this would also be a limitation to the freedom of speech if this law is enacted as an international law.
