Hello all, Please circulate the job announcement below. The program manager positions are both very high-level. We will not consider an applicant with less than 10 years of professional experience including significant management experience. For the quality assurance engineer we are only looking for people with previous experience in formal quality assurance. We will be posting a number of software engineering positions (both senior and entry level) in a month or so once we fill the needs in management and QA. Josh Bridge International Academies is a for-profit startup company revolutionizing education across Africa with a unique business model. The company runs a large-scale network of low-cost primary schools in Kenya that significantly outperforms other primary schools in the same areas because of our "school in a box" systems. Our schools profitably deliver this high-quality education for less than $4 per child per month, which enable the schools to cover all their costs and create a profitable central organization at scale. We have launched 37 schools in Kenya, we will double in size in the next 6 months, and plan to rapidly scale the company to serve more than 1 million students across the continent. Innovative uses of technology are key to enabling the companies expansion and the company develops and maintains a number of custom software systems that are used both in the field and at headquarters. Why did Netscape close? Even the "end users" could not do anything with the open code when it was released for open source development. Any Netscape/Firefox coder contributors on this list to open our views? Rgds.

What came first : Encarta or Wikipedia?

I remember using encarta a long time ago and it was really nice. But its closure is somehow related to Wikipedia arriving on the scene. Interesting reading ahead, was Wikipedia an original concept or an extension?

* I think this will be my last post on the software subject * On a comparison to the entire software industry practises, the only reason developer/coders want the DNA or Source Code of a propreitary software is not to improve it or even build better. It is to take part in the same financial cake that they will use to improve their own personal goals with the use of others DNA/Source code. They will use whatever is available to complain that proprietary software or systems do not perform upto public usage levels and that the public has the final say. Actually it turns out that the public have no understanding of Source code and cannot use it to improve how they look or feel, whether short or tall. When you purchase something, it allocates to you the usage parameters. It provides you with a complaint mechanism and also a feedback mechanism that is used to improve on features or problems. Developers/coders say you do not own it, this is such a bad thing but when they own it, they do nothing with it but find ways to get the public to use the same usage parameters. I can just imagine what would their reaction be if the Human race was a piece of the financial cake. Would they then ask for the Human DNA to create an alternative Human race or a better human race. No, they would still create the same humans but with uncomplete body or human functions. Would they use the opened Human DNA to create a super human? Never. Me thots. :-)

Help: PHP/Java Bridge and Birt

Anybody used PHP/Java bridge with Birt before? It seems to work fine with the given examples (created with older versions of Birt Designer - version 2.3) but returns an exception and a long trace when trying with currently created reports (version 3.7) I'm almost sure the problem is the versions.
