This is a fact! Between OTs, Adverts and the rest which were being shouted down, we ended up killing the content that makes us so different. We need the Web Platform and also have a mailer on the same platform. I cannot see it another way. Also, because Skunkworks KE has all the talent is does, in content terms of tech content and bright minds it may be considered a threat to many on the internet. We have never shyied away from challenges! We are going to take the content fight top the internet. :-) Gentlemen, Ladies. We are going to become regional on our content in due course if you allow the Web Part to take place. Please support the web transition. :-)

Mpesa paybill business number - data problems

Dear great people, I am currently developing a system that allows customers to make payments for items through mpesa using the safaricom paybill system. Works pretty well extracting the data from the excel sheet safcom normally provides and updating the accounts. However, my challenge is that I want to eliminate that human intervention where one has to import the excel from mpesa database and then upload to the ERp system we are developing.. I know an API would be the solution but of course Safcom wont give you access to database so no way to get the data update seamlessly. Any one with such an experience and do you have some kind or recommendations basically to assure the client on data integrity. regards Oliver

Tender row could push country back to expensive power

I like the optimistic tone this article takes. I could bet the author was paid to title it this way by the power companies, possibly even KPLC. The row in question is about installation of diesel power, the most expensive form, which means even if the whole thing were put in place, it would contribute to the national power demand and cause us unnecessary grief anyway. So how is this row threatening more expensive power if in the first place it is a row about who will give us expensive power in the first place? ......... ----- ........ Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) plans to set up three power plants with a combined capacity of 240 Megawatts, but procurement rows have held up the projects that were set to kick off in April. (Possibly) breaking the law in China

Hey good people, Since (most of) y'all are techies and are better at this than me, I thought I might share this with you. Am in Beijing China and using this laptop that has never been used in China before. When I typed in 'google' on the address bar, it gave me results using Baidu! Now, I gather that Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are blocked in China. Sadly, those are also some of my favourite sites for work and play reasons. So am staying at this '5-star' hotel and when I couldn't get on any of the sites from the wi-fi on PC or mobile, I started questioning its 5-star-ness. It only occurred to me later that this state choke-hold on info is for real here. Anyway, I digress. Technically, you're not supposed to be able to get on these sites whichever way, right? Wrong. Because I can. I have Snaptu on my phone, its an app that does Twitter but also FB etc and I've set it to remember my details so I dont log in every time. And I can do both FB & Twitter through it.
