Hello skunkfolks, I'm looking for some data on what's happened to internet wholesale and retail prices (ADSL and 3G) over the last year since the big fat Seacom pipe arrived, (and the recent phone price wars) in order to win an argument with a South African. Can anyone help? Even anecdata about what your personal experience has been, would be useful. Hey folks? Just wondering. I'm sure there are quite a number of you who manage to do the above. My connection keeps on hanging and I'm running on Ubuntu 8.10. Is there like a bash script for wvdial that one can use to 'refresh' i.e. disconnect and reconnect the modem connection. I was really frustrated to find a torrent I left on Friday at the office still at the 1% on Monday morning. Well I don't know why the connection keeps on suspending after every 30min or so, but treating the symptoms would be good enough for me on this one. I currently connect using the ZTE app but I'd prefer the script for this purpose. Maybe a cron job? Anyone? -- OO Omingo Obiko

Anyone on this list using both MacBook and iPad concurrently with Mail App?

I am having a hard time having these two "giants" to co-exist! Not me, really, but a colleague: Scenario: 1. MacBook Pro and iPad both have 3 e-mail (POP3) accounts configured on them. Two accounts are hosted by Google. The other by AFOL 2. On each giant, the Mail App has the account configured to "leave mail on the server for N days" 3. On the Go-ogle server, the account settings have been modified to "NOT" move the e-mail into Archive (which is usually the default). So mail remains in the Inbox 4. Now, if you single out one of the mail accounts hosted by the Go-ogle guys and send e-mail to it, the drama begins. (a) if MacBook POPs first, the iPad will not get the same e-mail, or (b) if iPad POPs first, the other giant will not get the same e-mail. 5. I am 100% sure I have configured the two giants right, plus the Go-ogle settings, and this is how I expect "leave messages on the server to work".
