One purchases the amount they need, they send a request to the servers, through the Application (website, PC or mobile App). The application on the server deducts the amounts as they are used by the subscriber. I believe this system can generate enough revenue to sustain itself. The retail chain can pocket their 10 %, the system (and whoever is maintaining it) pocket another 10% and 70%-80% goes to the developer. Apple's Appstore pockets 30% while developer pockets 70%, that is great. One developer might have a client base of 5,000 for their app, but with 20 developers that goes up to 100,000. A developer would have access to the API to embed the payment solution in a website, mobile app, or PC app. I'm starting this thread for discussion into this venture. If the discussions are successful, let's make this a reality! If not, then I'll repost and repost until this idea makes sense, coz I'm yet to see how it doesn't. Price drops.. kenyan business need to learn something from consumers?

Internet pricing has something in common with other things around us. I'd like someone to correct what I say here. I read the budget summary for this year and Cameras, TVs are Zero rated. *Has this been passed and gazetted ? * from the summary : " remove the current import duty of 25 percent and VAT of 16 percent on television cameras, digital cameras and video camera recorders. " I've been asking TV and camera vendors about the reductions and none is straight forward about it and I do not want to buy " old expensive stock ". I could not believe yesterday when I went over to a camera shop they were selling a Nikon D40 @ 80,000/- while this camera should be about Ksh 35,000/-. So if you remove the zero-rating, the camera should be costing around 25,000/- to 30,000/-. corrections welcome. :-) -- Sign on my car is " L " plates : c#.net

Content Database for a Premium Rate SMS Service

Hi guys, I am looking to start a premium rate service (based on an sms short code) for providing content such as Bible Verses, Ringtones, Weather Information and the like. Anyone out there with an idea of what sort of database (and configuration) i would require to set up search a service. I am also looking to partner with a content provider so if anyone knows someone who does (or you do yourself) kindly get me the details ASAP, as soon as possibe.
