Dear Colleagues, The Internet Society has announced that it is seeking applications for the next round of the ISOC Fellowship to the IETF program, part of its Future Internet Leaders program (www.isoc.org/leaders) The program offers engineers from developing countries fellowships that fund the cost of attending an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meeting. As you know, the IETF is the Internet's premier standards-making body, responsible for the development of protocols used in IP-based networks. IETF participants represent an international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers involved in the technical operation of the Internet and the continuing evolution of Internet architecture. Fellowships will be awarded through a competitive application process. The Internet Society is currently accepting fellowship applications for the next two IETF meetings: * IETF 76 being held in Hiroshima, Japan, 8-13 November 2009 * IETF 77 being held in Anaheim, USA, 21-26 March 2010 Up to six fellowships will be awarded for each IETF meeting. Full details on the ISOC Fellowship to the IETF, including how to apply, are located on the ISOC website at : http://www.isoc.org/educpillar/fellowship Fellowship applications for both IETF meetings are due by *31 July 2009*. The Internet Society formally launched the ISOC Fellowship to the IETF program in January 2007 after successfully piloting the program during 2006 at IETF 66 in Montreal and IETF 67 in San Diego. Forty seven individuals from 29 countries have participated in the program since its inception. I encourage you to pass information about this program to individuals involved in your regional operators' groups that have a keen interest in the Internet standardisation activities of the IETF. That would mean that you would have to buy a low-spec laptop to accommodate proprietary software costs within 50K limit. Hello, Now that broad band is here, I have some few thoughts about communicating with my family, My Parents are in nyahururu, my brother is in Mombasa and am based in Nairobi. I was thinking skype, yahoo, due to the Video and Voice thing, my parents would def prefer this other than chat they do not know how to use, LOL, LMFAO Blah blah.. and again typing is not in them at all, but again if I go Skype then there will be a delay coz am thinking the traffic would be international ( I could be wrong) am thinking if I make a call it will go all the way to the USA and then back again so I have a couple of ms delay, so my question is is there any other solution you would advice one that would know the IP am calling is not very far? Am also thinking Video confrencing is much better than normal mobile phone call.... I know most of you might differ ... -- Watson wanjohi kambo

This is the rude shock i got when i tried to reload my Orange internet this evening. Hoping to get my 2000MB for Ksh 2000, here is what i got from the menu. 25-> 150 => Ksh 6 per MB 50 -> 250 => Ksh 5 per MB 100 -> 450 => Ksh 4.50 Per MB 250 -> 850 => Ksh 3.40 per MB 1000-> 2200 => Ksh 2.20 Per MB 2000 -> 3900=> Ksh 1.95 Per MB -- Its Possible! http://www.itspossible.afraha.com Collins Areba Omwoyo +254 735 824872 / +254 720 516758 arebacollins[at]gmail[dot]com
