This is the rude shock i got when i tried to reload my Orange internet this evening. How long longer are we supposed to wait till they pay/refund the shares.... especially after filling all those claim forms and queuing for days! Anyone with an update on current developments???? As of the 1st of this month anybody buying a pre-paid line in South Africa will have to provide proof of address- even tourists buying one for the short stay. Existing subscribers will have to register too or risk disconnection but the deadline has not been set. They say it's to control organised crime and now your phone can be tapped if a court order is given. Opinion is divided but is this a good or bad thing? On the outside they look justified but it's can lead to invation of privacy. One of the selling points of prepaid is ease of connection and annonymity. Any plans for the same in Kenya, Maoni?

VLANs and FreeBSD

" Calling washington, and FreeBSD gurus, OVER " @Wash, I've not had time to work on FreeBSD and VLANs for a long while though I read thru and it seems very do-able. What do you think, with all the fiber circuits on VLANS and some on proprietory tagging, is freebsd vlans a worthwile to look at? Say eg, buy a 4 port eth card, use 2 ports for fiber circuits while use 2 others for gateway segmentation or possible load balancing. I know Cisco and the rest do it, but FreeBSD is king at networks. Then possibly run mrtg etc for graphs. ( my opinion ) What say you?
