Accessing DVD/CD on Windows 7

Good people, I installed Windows 7 replacing Vista, and I'm not able to access CD or DVD through the ROM. I remember after installing the current OS, I watched a movie on my laptop, but all of a sudden, I can't find drive E: (which was my DVD drive). I have done a trouble shoot, run device manager and I seem to have been lost in the maze. Device manager shows the CD ROM but with a yellow tab on the left. I can't roll back the drive (the tab is blocked) but I can update and check the device status which states:* Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). *I have googled, searched on Microsoft website for help, but still I find myself in the deepest part of the maze. Restoring the system to an earlier point, does not help me either. I installed the same on a PC and it's working well. The DVD and CD are playing very well. Any one out there with a solution? Mysql on jambo server

Sending mail with php - SMTP error

Hi Techies, Happy new year to evryone of you it was a pleasure having to interact with people of the same caliber, Now I have a problem after making an online application system where people can apply for jobs for our company, and then they get an email of notification the server does not send mail, am not sure because I know the code is okay I have tested it in a linux server and it works correctly now its hosted in a windows 2003 server and it has xampp installed in as the running apache server, its running on port 81, port 80 is being used by a different "localhost", is there any program I need to install or configure the smtp or popr mail to enable me send mail? Thanks in advance

Accessing Offline SCO OpenServer Filesystem

Hi Skunks, I have an old IBM xSeries 235 server that runs the above OS on an UltraSCSI hard disk. It doesn't have any IDE hard disks installed. Problem is, I don't have any logon credentials for logging into the server, so I'd like to reset the root password by editing the passwd/shadow files using a LiveCD. Unfortunately, it seems like Linux distros are unable to read the filesystem used, which I suspect to be EAFS or HPFS. Since I have downloaded a number of ISOs which don't seem to be of much help, I am thinking of trying FreeBSD, but I am not sure whether it will help me solve this matter. Someone kindly advise. Wesley, Firstly, I concur that the situation as currently stands is a perfect recipe for national disaster-accumulated idle youths with no jobs, no incomes, no hope will convert their youthful energies from nothingness to acts such as you outline. [ You forgot to add that they are also ready armies-for-hire at the disposal of politicians' personal interest-assignments.] Find huge government expenditure on education justified since Human Capital is the greatest asset in the “Knowledge Economy” era and as history shows, for example, the little islands called United Kingdom without much natural resources (minerals such as Africa's) grew and remains a global economic leader. They harnessed and export their human capital and culture (e.g. 'Shakespeare') around the world or 'importing' students into the UK. They created markets and demand for British certification, standards, etc and I am certain that at one point or other list members 'boasted' of their 'Britishness' either upon travel there, certification, a gadget (or just a power cable:) - “Made in UK.” My considered opinion is that our youth are not given much space nor support to innovate. Those that insist and persist and make it, are not recognised for their successes. I'm concerned about the hundreds of thousands of students that will miss high school. Last year 250,000 missed it. Over a five year period, this adds up to more than a million, in a country whose population is about 40 million! Out of those who go to high school, only a handful end up in university. Someone should do a sturdy on the loss to our economy. The government spends lots on money to educate 250,000 people annually who will not get to high school. With our current systems, most of these 250,000 will not get descent employment/stable sources of income. Most of them come from rural areas, which are the areas that need serious development and skilled man-power to drive the development. If I opened a branch of my company in some rural area of Kenya, who will I employ? Even if I employ some people, they would be threatened by the Mungiki-types (children who join gangs in order to extort money) We need every child in Kenya, willing to go to school, to be able to archieve at least Diploma level. Without that, we should forget vision 2030 and competing with India and other Asian countries! The Chinese will continue building our roads, as Kenyans sweep them with brooms, not even specialized machines!
