
Education for All Initiative The Launch of Elimu 24/7 Free to Air Community Educational TV Channel was done on Thursday 13/9/2012 at Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) Nairobi. We were honoured by the presence of Assistant Minister for Education who represented The Minister Hon Mutura Kilonzo, Hon FT Nyammo, Hon Mutava Musyiemi Representatives from UNESCO and Commonwealth of Learning (COL). Relevant Government Agencies that include KNEC, KARI, KIE and Civil Society were well represented. Universities, Colleges, Directors of Non Formal Schools, Head Teachers and Students come to celebrate the birth of Elimu 24/7 TV and Web Portal. The Channel will broadcast Primary, Secondary and Skill Based Short Courses. Talk shows on Education Policies and Implementation will be hosted. The Channel will promote sports by having a PE Training on various games. We have sent a proposal to KNEC to host a weekly program on A-Z on Examination. It is 24 hours of Education, Education, and Education. The Founder of the Organization Jane Muriuki will take the Character of the Biblical Tabitha who mended the Clothes of Orphans and women in her time. Jane will visit churches and schools in Slums and Marginalized areas every week donating TV Screens and Decoders. These equipments is all we need to put in Church Halls, Schools and Social hall And put mechanism that will ensure they are just used for Education purpose. We shall also donate computers for easy access to the portal. During the Tabitha Community Visit, we shall create awareness of the Elimu 24/7 TV Channel Mobile and Web Portal education platform. www.nnfeischools.co.ke It is expected that this initiative will promote migration to Digital TV Platform and more internet use by children and youth. The program will greatly contribute to relevant content for children I wish to invite all Companies, Organizations and Individuals to Donate Decoders, TV Screens and computers for this initiative. You could also join the campaign in any other way that may be appropriate to your organization. These Campaigns start on 6th October 2012.
