This infrastructure includes roads, Power lines, Pipelines ,ICT infrastructure and water reticulation systems among others. Currently, the deployment, maintenance and protection of Critical Infrastructure is done in an independent and uncoordinated manner leading to disruption of essential services and losses due to accidental damage. Due to this,there is need to protect them. In this regard, the Cabinet Secretaries of the Ministries of Transport and Infrastructure, Energy and Petroleum and that of Information, Communications and Technology formed a Taskforce to draft a policy and legislative framework for the protection of critical infrastructure in the Country. In addition, the taskforce invites proposals and/or submissions for the Critical Infrastructure Protection Draft Bill in the form of written memoranda so as to reach them on or before the 21st April 2015.
