Welcome to this special Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit edition of the Open Data Research network newsletter. The network was formed at the last OGP Summit in Brasilia, and this week we're in London, for the 2013 Summit. You can follow webcasts of many OGP sessions on Thursday 31st October and Friday 1st November from www.opengovpartnership.org. 

Open Data Barometer report launched

Today we're launching our latest report from the ODDC project, jointly with the World Wide Web Foundation and Open Data Institute - the Open Data Barometer. Covering 77 countries, the Barometer reports that 55% of countries surveyed have open data initiatives in place, yet less than 10% of key government datasets across the world are truly open to the public.

Upcoming events; open calls; conferences and consultations.

Selected sessions from the Open Government Partnership in London are being webcast on 31st October and 1st November, including a number of open data related sessions.

A Sciencewise Webinar on Open Data and Dialogue will be taking place at 14:00 GMT on Wednesday 6th November. Register here.

The 13th International Conference on Social Implications of Computers in Developing Countries is taking place in 2015 will focus on Openness in ICT4D and have issued a call for Track Proposals, due by 15th November.

The Social Science Computer Review have issued a call for abstracts for a special issue on Open Government (PDF) by 30th November.
