Dear Members,
Another Clarification is that we have not received any money for the 20 Anniversary Celebrations however, there is a budgetary provision for the same. The Catch here is that we should have finalised our Chapter application processs before then. Marsema Tariku is guiding us with the process.
Best Regards
Many thanks Liz,
Just to clarify on the Community grants project, all the local chapter members are encouraged to give it a shot and should they require assistance we can team up as and when needed.
Thanks

- IPv6
- Registration
- By laws
- INET
- Community grants
Members were presented with an IPv6 training programme. Paul rigorously took members through a brief introduction to IPv6 and the need to train more people on it. It was noted that there is a need to raise awareness and put more emphasis on the same. Members suggested that we should conduct a series of trainings at the universities during the worlds IPv6 day (8th June).
Since the universities have a lot of bureaucracies, it was suggested that we start the planning processes as soon as possible so we would be on top of things come June.
There was a suggestion to post the IPv6 tutorials on the ISOC Kenya website so that anyone can access.
Minute 2:18/2/2012 Registration
Members sought to know on how far we had reached with the chapter application/ registration process. It was difficult getting members to sign the sheet. Charles volunteered go ahead with the task.He also volunteered with the follow ups of the chapter registration at the attorney general's
It was noted with a lot of concern that only few people commented on the by laws and members were encouraged to give for changes or at least agree with it so, to avoid working on assumptions.
Minute 3:18/2/2012 The by laws
It was noted that most of the comments posted on the by laws only revolved around issues concerning grammar, meaning that most of the members did not have issues regarding the laws.
Members agreed to have to trustees for the time being in place of board members.
Minute 4:18/2/2012 INET conference
Regarding the INET conference that is to coincide with ISOC's 20th Anniversary celebrations, it was suggested that we have the conference at The Multimedia University. Members saw that it was nice to invite ISOC global representatives and other guys from IT to provide some sort of mentorship support.
Though Judy was the one tasked to spearhead the planning process, members were encouraged to provide assistance where needed, It was also agreed that members contributing to the task should be rewarded.
Members were informed that ISOC had given out 200USD for the same.
Minute 5:18/2/2012 ISOC community grants
Members were also encouraged to apply for the isoc comminity grants. Barrack had started on a project at Kisamis, and had already engaged with the area's local authorities.Members agreed to follow up with the project as Isoc_ke.
AOB
Charles had been nominated to attend a fellowship in Geneva, He thanked members for the same and encouraged people to support each other. He is to follow up with the internet snapshots that Seth is currently working on.
Members agreed to nominate members who had not gone for the fellowships so as to allow more members to get the exposure.
There being no other business the meeting ended at around 12:30PM, next meeting to be on17th march, same venue.
cheers and Best regards.
