Kwanyikara Zion - isoc South Sudan chapter.
1.Introduction to isoc
The
meeting started at around 10 am. Paul gave a brief introduction to ISOC
to Qnet's online entrepreneurs, and we had 51 people interested to join
the chapter.
2. World ipv6 day.
ISOC_ke's activities on the
world ipv6 day (6th june) was discussed at length. Paul also gave an
introduction to ipv6 and the need to emphasize for its deployment
Members
discussed on the event that was to take place at ihub. It was agreed
that the event is to start early (7.00am) so as to allow members to get
back to work or attend other ict events taking place on the same date.
There were suggestions to involve the press since it would be our first
event and members felt that there was need for us to use this event to
reach more for our presence.
Corporates already channeled to th IP
version 6 such as safaricom, equity and uunet were also to be invited so
that they can share with us on how they went about it.

Local registration
It
was noted that the chapter needs ksh.5,000 for its local registration
and the 11 members who were present agreed that we should contribute
500 shillings towards the same and any surplus amount will be added to
other activities. The money should be sent to Elizabeth Orembo,
0716842399 via mpesa by wednesday.
isoc_ke workplan
It was agreed that the issue is to
be posted on the list so that listers can brainstorm on ideas, a
complete work plan is to be compiled by the end of the week by Charles.
Members felt that the chapter should be very stong on policy issues and
some of the ideas suggested were plans for supporting recognition of the
chapter , internet mashinani/ capacity building, policy isssues and the
growth of internet
The meeting ended at 1.00 am, next meeting to be held on 16th june at the same venue.
