Research Project Participant Invite:

Measuring Broadband Performance in Kenya

Dear Research Participant,

My name is John Walubengo, Lecturer at Multimedia University of Kenya. In conjunction with Research ICT Africa, we are carrying out research to establish the quality of the internet links as provided for by the Kenyan mobile operators Safaricom, Airtel, Orange and Equitel.

The aim of the research is to get empirical data from subscribers that can then be used to inform regulatory policy that can improve the quality of upload/download speeds as well as the general customer web surfing experience.

You will be expected to run some internet speed measurements at least (twelve) 12 times per month using a mobile App called “*My Speed Test*” with your smart phone from Jan 30 to April 30 2017.  The App can be found from the Playstore @

There will be three smart phones to be won for the most active participants, based on the number of tests run per month. If you wish to participate in this worthy course…
