in 2014. Our membership grew past the 800 mark In 2014. We

Front:We had our members
represent the society in many international fora including
the African IGF in Abuja Nigeria, Global IGF in Istanbul
Turkey, NetMundial in Brazil, ITU Plenipot in Busan South
Korea, ICANN meetings in Singapore, Bueno Aires, and Los
Angeles, and , IETF in Toronto and Hawaii, and ISOC Chapter
leaders workshop in Dakar.
We continue to have
our members make positive impact in society by participating
in many regional and global initiatives. We had Barrack
Otieno elected AFRALO Secretary (https://community.icann.org/display/AFRALO/AFRALO+Regional+Officers),
and Emphraim Kenyanito nominated to the UN MAG (http://www.intgovforum.org/cms/component/content/article?id=2102:mag-2015).Dorcas Muthoni was
also feted as an Internet Hall of Fame inductee 2014 -
Global Connectors (http://www.internethalloffame.org/inductees)
in a colorful ceremony in Hong Kong on 8 April
2014 We also had
Individuals members attended Internet Society online

Year 2015
outlookWe are compiling list
of events and will share with all members soon. We value
your feedback on what you would like to see from the Chapter
in 2015. We are also actively
looking for more volunteers to take on positions of
responsibility, organizing local meetings or also speaking
at events. If you would like to organize an event or a
gathering, please contact us.Finally, I want to
wish you a Happy New Year 2015 on behalf of the Kenyan
Chapter of the Internet Society. We hope it will be filled
with more events than ever whilst improving the activities
of our Chapter. Thanks for your support and
