At ISOC-NY we do have a fortnightly tv show on local cable, so I regularly reformat the videos into 58 minute dv quality pieces for that purpose. The content is somewhat NYcentric, but often of general interest. I have pretty big library like a couple of hundred shows going back over the years. In a new challenge another member - Dave Burstein - is just starting a radio show up in Harlem, and has tasked me with producing a 5-7 minute video feature segment (they also webcast video) - I shall be doing my first next week. For me I was able to blissfully ignore the big pile of un- or semi- processed video of 2014 events.,, But this week I have begun to grapple. And here is the first dose, to be followed by a good few more. The CSNYC initiative was founded in part by my fellow ISOC-NY VP Evan Korth, so it is a cause close to our hearts. It is beyond doubt that, in today's world, no child should be without some degree of formal training in Computer Science, and CSNYC aims to get it on the curriculum and in the budget of every school in our city. I hope these videos of our teacher gatherings may inspire others to mount similar efforts in their own locales. Please, even if you don't watch, try and think of someone - teacher or kid - that they might benefit and forward appropriately.
