worst case scenario is that the two would be "selling" the Kenyan brand on an international stage- even if they slept through their appointment. furthermore, i would rather an "illegally" appointed Kenyan than no Kenyan at all -theory of a bird in hand is better than two in the bush :-).

finally remember that these appointments are not restricted to Kenyans only and am sure other global citizens would be glad to take them up asap in case anyone declines.

that said, maybe we shall task these two Kenyans to pass your message in the first meeting, requesting that future appointments on such panels are done more "openly, transparently and bottom-up".
