There was a news item to the effect that the switch off will happen within 15 hours. If the telcos started switching off at midnight, they still have a couple of more hours to complete the exercise.

The consumer is not to blame here. If I had my phone locked out i would have no problem saying it.
We all know the government should have been more responsble in preventing such a situation.
