Great defining Internet moments in Kenya Internet:

a) The end of the Telkom Kenya monopoly as the only Internet gateway circa 2004

b) The growth of mobile Internet and its unseating of the desktop/laptop as the tool for accessing the Internet (2009-Present).

c) The founding of the first local and regional Internet Governance Forum (EA IGF in 2008)  and the Kenya IGF (2010) {Barrack you can fill out any gaps}.

d) To fill you on some dates:

- The First ISP in Kenya (non-commercial)  founded by the African Regional Centre For Computing (AARC) went online in 1993.
- The First commercial ISP in Kenya (Formnet) began operating in 1995.
- CCK the regulator founded in 1999 (used to be part of the now moribund Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation).
- TESPOK (houses the Kenya Internet Exchange) founded in 1999.
- KENIC (the .KE registry) was founded in 2003 (though consultations to its establishment took place from 2001)
