The Internet society and African Telecommunications Union are organising a
workshop at the Hilton Hotel on 9th September 2013 that is aimed at
combating spam. Below please find a short description of the workshop and
flyers containing information about the workshop:
*This seminar on combating spam will offer government representatives,
policy makers and developing country participants an opportunity to engage
with technical experts, industry associations and government agencies that
are actively working to mitigate spam today. The seminar will provide an
opportunity to have an open discussion on the on the tools to use,
government requirements and the best practices to adopt for network
management associated with combating the proliferation of spam, malware,
botnets and phishing based upon experiences and approaches that are being
used today. *

- *Actionable Outcomes ? to provide meaningful technical and policy
information on best practices and next steps to meet the ATU Spam Action
Items from July 2013*
- *Multistakeholder Process ? to bring together Internet technical
experts, industry associations and policy makers to create a sustainable
model for engagement and problem solving for combating spam in all its
forms within Africa and as part of the global community.*
