d) So far has ISOC been funded, and for what activities have the funds been used?
I should mention further that the webcasting facilty that has been provided for the chapter, including use of the server, and my hours as remote producer, have separately been funded by ISOC Chapter Support, for which we should be thankful.

Listers,
Thank you for the vibrant debate going on on the list , a number of questions were asked in an earlier thread today and i promised to respond as the Interim Chairperson of the Society, the questions were as follows:
a) Was ISOC Ke registered? With which by-laws?
The Internet Society is duly registered at the registrar of Societies and has a Bank account at Cooperative Bank Parliament Branch. The By laws used were developed collectively under the direction of Grace Bomu witth a few modifications based on directives from the Internet Society, the bylaws will soon be included on the website. b) Who are the interim officials as per that registration? The Interim Officials are Barrack Otieno Interim Chair, Charles Interim Vice Chair, Elizabeth, Interim Secretary , Judy Interim Treasurer c) Who is keeping the registration documents? As the Interim Chair i have the registration certificate that was handed over to me by Charles who wass tasked to follow up on the registration and copies of the Charter from the Internet Society that i received from the Chapters office on 9th May, this are available to any member who may wish to see them, we will include the registration number on the website.
d) So far has ISOC been funded, and for what activities have the funds been used? Yes, the Chapter was funded for World IPV6 Forum held at the Ihub in June and a an outreach event at Alliance High School that brought together Computer Study Students from Alliance High School and Alliance Girls High School (USD 1000), all the reports were duly Submited to the Internet Society. In December a further USD 2000 was sent for the Chapter Launch and Celebration of the 20th Anniversay of the Internet Society Locally, the report is being prepared for submission to the Internet Society. This details are available at the monthly meetings.
d) Apart from this bid to host the next AIGF, what other big things are in the pipeline for ISOC ke and who are co-ordinating which project?
Whereas the Chapter is at Infancy we have a lot of expertise within that we can tap to hold a number of events, members have been brainstorming on different ideas and there is still room for more proposals to come forward regarding the chapters activities. There is a Wiki Project that is at an advanced stage , the project is funded by UNESCO and is being deployed by Internet Society Kenya Chapter, due to contractual obligations we might not divulge every detail on the list due to its diverse membership but we have been giving regular updates in our monthly meetings. The project is coordinated by Charles and Kelvin has been developing the Wiki. We created an event working group whose members include Martin, Wangari, Richard, Charles, Liz and so far it has done a a suberb job organising the World IPv6 Day and the Chapter Launch.
Again i wish to thank all those who have volunteered their time and resources to ensure that the Chapter gets onto its feet despite the challenging environment posed by divergent views and tight schedules, we will hold elections in due cause to ratify office bearers, this was postponed since members present at the last meeting felt that the Society needed more time to gel. We need to do a lot to improve the image of the Society and proffessionalise our operations , i beleive we will be able to attain that as the year progresses, where we have come from is further than where we are heading to. As members feel free to voice your opinions and concerns since this is what will improve the Society.
Have a prosperous 2013
Best Regards
