Ali,
That is a very good reminder and hopefully we should engage in making the chapter vibrant in projects not only focus on one project or so.

Thanks

Hi all

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the AGM as I already had another engagement scheduled out of town.

I think I speak for the rest of the elected officials when I say that there shall be transparency and accountability on usage of funds and that we shall ensure we get the best value for money for any activities we engage in.

@rapundo,

I dnt think i asked any questions i gave a proposition.(read email thread)

the reason i assumed that Mr Ali is best to answer at the right time is

1. he is mandated by virtual of an election
2. this will be an independent audit by his office noting that he has not participated in any financials before his election.

all in all It is an AGM agenda.

Kelvin,

I have read through the report. it is substantial but needs review any other report done.

As a member, I ask what is the issue you are putting out? i feel this is not the right forum for such engagement regarding accountability. The issue of the report will be part of the AGM? Why not ask the questions at the forum?

I feel that ISOC kenya is entering into next phase that would transform our actions. I salute the team for guiding us into this juncture

Thanks

Why dont we give time to the budgets and finace controller to receive all documentations and financial records from the previous interim members ? Am sure once this is done Mr Ali will be able to explain what he inherited, current financial situation as well as address any questions. That would be my proposition unless Mr Ali would like to take any other measures then its welcome that we hear whats in his plate.

Charles,
You are right, I followed the money. Numbers don't lie. But the wiki is not professional, far from it.
I am sorry you sacrificed time for that, but at least you were well rewarded.
You see, this is the first time a report (read financial report) is being published about an ISOC project.
Had this been published before elections.....
And now that you have invited me to look more closely at the report, expect even more questions.
But please answer my question, who benefited financially from this "project". names names names!
-----------
@ Kiarie Good Question, but it only shows that you either did not read or understand the full report and only went for the figures. to say the least, by professional standards, those figures are even low. At the onset, we also thought it was alot of money, but when it came to the real work, looking for professional translators to deliver quality output in concise translation, editing etc, as required by the UNESCO, we had to sacrifice most of time in order to deliver. This aspect is well captured in the wiki report. In this regard we encourage members to get involved and participate in such activities in future order to understand what goes on. The wiki is and related iformation available @ http://dcom.co.ke/index.php?title=Main_Page Regards Charles Bad bad translation by all means. You are right, these were not professionals.
